I picked you up and threw you in the air,
I pressed you to my cheek
And spoke a new language
I rolled on the floor with you
And made silly faces
I took off your onesie
And tickled your pudgy belly
Thank you baby of mine
For granting me
An all-access pass to love you
Thank you baby
For bringing me
Access to love

About the poem:
The great thing about a baby is you can do all this, that you can’t really do with larger, full-grown humans. They really allow you in and it’s profound and delightful. This is a pic of my friend’s daughter and son. Adorable is an understatement.
