Poem: Slow my breathing down

It is as I pick you up from your bed
And as we settle down into the rocking chair
That I remember
To slow my breathing down

If I don’t
You will feel the rushing and the stress
Of silly to-do lists
A mile long
My racing heart will tell you
The life is stressful
And fear is our master

If I do
Slow my breathing down
And smile as we rock
Aimlessly
You will feel
Only
Peace
And love

About the poem:
It’s not what we tell our kids. It is how we are with them that is important. We can’t mask it. They know instantly, especially when we hold them close to us. Or are too busy to do so.
